Heli Hiking and Talus Lodge

Heli Hiking and Talus Lodge
Guests from all over the world come to visit Talus Lodge to enjoy the wilderness and the great outdoors in the alpine terrain of the Canadian Rockies. To find us, some visiting friends tell us that they have searched the web for alpine destinations in the Canadian Continental Divide area between BC and Alberta by using the search words Heli Hiking.
Because we at Talus Lodge want guests to find us on the website we would like to inform potential visitors using Heli Hiking as a search word in the web how the term is generally used in Canada.
Heli Hiking is normally applied to destinations that offer the option to guests to be flown up to alpine locations from a lodge base. The helicopter flights take people to the alpine and to pick them up at the end of the hiking day to return to the base they have flown up from.
Talus Lodge does not offer Heli Hiking. We do fly our guests by helicopter but once at our lodge, guests depart to go hiking during their stay in our facilities. Because Talus Lodge is located in the Canadian Rockies alpine setting, our guests can enjoy long or short hikes to different locations within our area of operation. Superb view points for flowers, panoramic alpine views, fossils, rock formations or just taking time to breathe the fresh air and contemplate the beauty of the mountains are all readily available during your stay at Talus Lodge. During winter a snowy wonderland awaits Talus Lodge visitors who can backcountry ski, cross country ski or snowshoe in the same wonderful surroundings.
We at Talus Lodge hope that guests find us on the web even if they use Heli Hiking as a search word. We would be happy to host people that love to be in the alpine terrain of the Canadian Rockies and we will do everything possible for visitors to have a wonderful alpine experience with us.
