With a Rocky Mountain snow pack to play in, a cozy lodge with fire’s blazing, hearty mountain food and great company, Talus is a place to enjoy the simple pleasures of winter, wilderness and backcountry skiing. Helicopter Flight times: Thursday 12:00 pm. Monday 9:00 am.

Double occupancy required. The average nightly rate is based on two people and includes meals and guiding. Talus Lodge is a remote backcountry lodge that requires helicopter access. The round trip helicopter is an additional $350 per person or $700 per room.

Summer 2019 booking opens on October 1, 2018.

Helicopter flights depart from Canmore Alpine Heliport or Mount Shark Helipad (one hour drive from Canmore) on Monday or Thursday. Depending on your group’s flight preferences, booking order, weather and logistics you may be flying from Canmore Alpine Heliport or Mount Shark Heliport. Guests will be informed of the helicopter staging area one week prior to trip departure.

Monday departures

Canmore – Talus 9:00 am. Check-in at Canmore Alpine Heliport: 8:15 am.
Mount Shark Helipad – Talus 9:30 am. Check- in at Mount Shark Helipad: 8:45 am.

Thursday departures

Canmore – Talus 12:00 pm. Check-in at Canmore Alpine Heliport: 11:15 am.
Mount Shark Helipad – Talus 12:30 pm. Check-in at Mount Shark Helipad: 11:45 am.

Talus Lodge based Winter Rates includes:

  • House made and from scratch meals including lunch on your arrival and departure days.
  • Guided ski touring. Guiding program is exclusively ski touring and telemarking. Beginner to advanced skiers are welcome.
Exclusive light ski touring and snowshoe guiding dates are: February 25-28 and March 11-14.
  • Sauna, showers and outhouses located in a building adjacent to the main lodge.
  • Off the grid living.
  • Talus is a place to reconnect. Sorry, NO Wi Fi.
