THE SKI SEASON

December 30, 2019- January 6, 2020
February 6, 2020- April 6, 2020.

RATES INCLUDE

  • ACMG led ski guiding for alpine touring, telemarking and split boarding.
  • House made and from scratch meals including lunch on your arrival day.
  • Down duvets, linens and towels.
  • Sauna, watering can showers and outhouses located in a building adjacent to the Lodge.
  • Off the grid living.
  • Talus is a place to reconnect. There is no guest access to Wi Fi.

THE GUIDING PROGRAM

  • Talus runs a safety conscious ski program led by ACMG ski guides for alpine touring, telemarking and split boarders.
  • Winter guests are required to bring their own ski or splitboard equipment including climbing skins.
  • All winter guests are required to bring a digital avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe.
  • All levels welcome. Must be able to ski in all types of snow.
  • Split boarders must be prepared for transitions and flats.
  • The guiding program caters to the average level of the skier in the group. There are often turn back options for those who want shorter days.
  • Guided snowshoeing and light ski touring is available for private groups only.
  • Minors require parental and/or guardians attendance in order to take part in the ski guiding program.

*CHILD RATE (AGE 12-16)

  • Family room booking available for families with children 12 years and older.
  • Child pricing is based on the family room availability (Room #3 and #4) or Raven’s Nest availability.
  • Minors require parental attendance in order to take part in the ski guiding program.
  • Minors may not be left unattended at the lodge.
  • Private group bookings are required for families with children under the age of 12.

  • Available for 10-14 people.
  • Available for families with children under 12 years of age.

LODGE CONFIGURATION

  • Room #1: Sleep 2. Beds can be twin or king mode. Lower level.
  • Room #2: Sleep 2. Beds can be twin or king mode. Lower level.
  • Room #3: Sleeps 2-4. Double bed and twin bunk. Can be booked as a family room. Lower level.
  • Room #4: Sleeps 2-4. Double bed and twin bunk. Can be booked as a family room. Lower level.
  • Room #5: Sleeps 2. Two twin beds. Main level
  • Raven’s Nest: Sleeps 3. Three twin beds. Accessed by steep stairs.

MONDAY AND THURSDAY EXCHANGE DAYS

HELICOPTER ACCESS

Helicopter flights depart from Canmore Municipal Heliport (located in the Town of Canmore) or Mount Shark Helipad (one hour drive from Canmore). Guests arriving on public transport are priority passengers for the Canmore flight. Depending on logistics you (and your group) may be flying from Canmore Municipal Heliport or Mount Shark Helipad. Helicopter staging areas will be confirmed one week prior to trip departure.

Advanced Canmore flight confirmation is an additional $100.00 per person for a roundtrip based on availability.

GUIDED SKI TOURING ACCESS

Talus Lodge offers guided ski touring access via Burstall Pass for previous Talus guests who are strong backcountry skiers. Due to safety reasons, guest ski touring access is only possible with a Talus guide. Ski access is based on conditions and weather.

  • Guided ski touring: $175.00 per person each way.
  • Minimum group size of four people or equivalent pricing

ACCOMODATION IN CANMORE

Consider staying at the Paintbox Lodge, our sister property in downtown Canmore. Talus Lodge guests receive 10% off and we will waive the two night minimum. Complimentary breakfast is provided at the Paintbox at 7:30 am on your Talus departure day to allow enough time to get to your staging area.
