Talus Lodge is a private, chalet style, two-story building providing comfortable backcountry alpine accommodation.
The first floor has four spacious bedrooms with two single beds and two windows which provide a scenic view. Each room has private access to the lower deck and equipment drying room.
The second or main floor contains the kitchen, living and dining area as well as a guest bedroom with two single beds and two windows. There is an upper loft used for staff quarters. The living area of the lodge is bright and comfortably finished with upholstered chairs and couches.
Wood stoves provide heating for the building and we use propane for cooking. Our solar panels provide electricity for both the lodge and facilities building. Electricity is available for recharging batteries, iPads etc. but please DO NOT use hair dryers/hot rollers. These items use a higher voltage which our system is not able to supply. We do not have Wi-Fi at Talus.
Large upper and lower decks facing southwest add to the outdoor enjoyment of Talus Lodge and provide fantastic views of the remote, alpine backcountry of the Canadian Rockies.
The facilities cabin is attached to the lodge building by a short wooden walkway and includes sauna, showers, wash basins and a separate toilet area with direct outside entry. There are also two comfortable outhouses for optional use.
Ten guests are accommodated within the lodge and the other guest bedroom is located in a cabin within 50 metres of the lodge. The cabin has a bedroom with two single beds as well as two windows. There is a living/sitting area and counter/sink area. Behind the sitting area there is a single bed usually used for staff accommodation. Please note there is no electricity in the cabin.
All single beds have down comforters and sheets are laundered with scent free products.
Talus Lodge is a perfect place in both summer and winter to relax, dine and enjoy after a day of hiking, skiing or snowshoeing in the mountains.
