THE SUMMER GEAR LIST

If you can’t fit your gear into a 30 L backpack and/or your pack weighs more than 22 lbs, you have too much stuff. Drop us a line if there are items missing or if you are unsure of something. We are happy to help. Guest are required to hike in and out with their gear.

  • HIKING GEAR

    • Hiking boots
    • Backpack  (30 litre)
    • Sunglasses
    • Sunscreen and lip protection
    • 1 Litre filled water bottle.
    • Tea thermos (optional)
    • Blister and foot care kit
    • Toilet paper for day hiking
    • Paper bag for used toilet paper
    • Hand sanitizer
    • Poles (optional and recommended)

  • HIKING CLOTHING

    • Long sleeved base layer top
    • Base layer bottoms
    • Water resistant hiking pants
    • Waterproof and breathable jacket
    • Sweater (fleece or wool)
    • Down jacket
    • Hiking shorts
    • Hiking shirt
    • Hiking socks
    • Warm hat
    • Sun hat
    • Gloves/mitts
    • Scarf/neckwarmer/Buff
    • Consider fast drying material and/or wool. Avoid cotton.

  • LODGE AND PERSONAL ITEMS

    • Comfortable lodge clothing
    • Slippers or indoor lodge shoes
    • Personal toiletries
    • Cable to charge electronics
    • Headlamp
    • A good read
    • Cords for charging devices. Each room has an outlet for daytime charging.
    • CPAP machines: if you require a CPAP machine, be sure it is battery operated.

  • TALUS PROVIDES

    • Picnic lunch is provided on arrival and departure day. You will have to carry it.
    • Wine and beer is available for purchase at the lodge.
    • Rocky Mountain Soap Company products (Shampoo, Conditioner and Body wash).
    • Sheets, down duvets, pillows and a towel.
    • Two guitars, a ukulele and song books

  • LEAVE AT HOME

    • Bear spray. Due to the possibility of accidental deployment of bear spray during transportation, we ask that clients not bringing bear spray. The guides carry bear spray and bear spray is provided at the lodge for client use.
    • Drones/UAV’s.
    • Hair dryer and curling irons.

Wine and beer is available for purchase at the lodge. Should you want to bring libations (other than wine and beer), please transfer to a plastic container.
